Snoqualmie Falls

We really enjoyed visiting Snoqualmie Falls. It was a beautiful hike down to the base. Kyla was very adventurous and seemed to really appreciate the experience. I highly recommend a visit here. The vegetation was jungle-like and the trees were mossy. I'll return here again.

Pike Place Market

We visited Seattle's Pike Place Public Market Center for some good food, shopping and fun. We stopped by Starbucks original store and toured the other sites, ate some Russian pirozhki, ate fresh pizza and Kyla enjoyed a huge cinnamon roll. The crafts were unique and the flowers were nicely arranged. There was lots of entertainment and culture. The fish market was fun to watch. A must do when visiting Seattle!

West Visit

We visited the Mike West family at their Seattle home this weekend. They all seem to be doing good and it was nice to catch up with them. Julie prepared a big dinner as Kyla enjoyed running around with her cousins.

Getting More Brave at the Pool

Kyla gained enough courage to start jumping into the water from the edge. She did it several times, plus she started swimming with her face in the water and even entertained diving under a few times. She had so much fun.

It's Spring Time

I'm so excited for the weather to warm up and the thunderstorms to start. We've been walking our property and see several bulbs sprouting so it won't be long until we see beautiful flowers.

Kyla lost her second tooth this Monday while eating dinner. She said it didn't even hurt this time. Another dollar in the piggy bank.

Zaylee is Two Months Old

Time sure goes by quickly and Zaylee is growing before our eyes. It seems like just yesterday she was born. I'm enjoying her more and more every day. She "talks" to me and I love all her smiles. Zaylee is a true blessing.

First Tooth Fairy Visit

Kyla lost her first tooth this weekend. She did really well and I was proud of how tough she was as I helped wiggle it out. She didn't cry once. The Tooth Fairy left her a dollar bill.

Zaylee is More Active

Zaylee has been enjoying her play mat. She looks at her reflection in the mirror and bats at the hanging frog rattle. She smiles and gurgles at me. It won't be long until she starts giggling.

Found Legos

I found my old Legos toys in a storage bin in the basement. I first played with these in the early 80s. Fortunately I kept the directions too and Kyla enjoyed building an airport and airplane.

Zaylee Two Month Check Up

Zaylee had her two month check up today, just a week shy of her official two month mark, and did great. She weighs 10 lbs 15 oz and is 23 1/4" long. Today she also received several more vaccines, which included DTap, Polio, HIB, and PCV. She cried very hard during the four shots but was comforted in my arms quickly afterwards. I cannot believe how quickly she's growing. I've been loving all the smiles she gives me and how she coos at me. Also check out the pictures that were added this week.

Busted Brow

Kyla and I were running around the house and wrestling and she accidentally fell and hit her head just right on our stair railings. She busted a gash at her eyebrow and cried when she saw the blood. Fortunately no stitches were needed and a butterfly bandage was all she needed.

Zaylee's First Shower

Zaylee did surprising well in the shower tonight. She smiled as the warm water ran across her body. She also slept really well after the big event :-)

Zaylee Stretching Her Back and Neck

Zaylee has been working her muscles a lot more lately. She's much more active, responsive, and even aggressive at times (Grunt Grunt).

Shoe Tying

Kyla learned how to tie her shoes tonight. It only took about ten minutes and she had it all down. I'm not sure why I waited this long to teach her, but I was very proud of her.
