I'm 16 Weeks Pregnant, due Sept 6th

It's about time we finally announce this. But if you recall I'm categorized as "High Risk" with my blood condition. So far the pregnacy has been quite different than my experience with little Zaylee. I was nauseas for the first 13 weeks, having trouble sleeping and have been craving spicy foods. The baby has been sitting lower and we are anxious to find out the gender on April 12th - keep your fingers crossed for a little man to help carry on the Lindsey name! Your general prayers would be appreciated. Will keep you informed ;-)

Zaylee is 3 weeks old

It's been three wonderful weeks with Zaylee. She has been much better about sleeping at least six hours at night which is great. I've started to become accustom to her cries and know when she's hungry, needs a diaper change, or just wants to be held. Looking into her eyes and knowing that she depends solely on me is an amazing feeling. The end of my shots is in sight, only three more weeks. Everything is going well, be sure to check out all the new pictures that were added this week.

Zaylee is 2 weeks old

It's hard to believe that she's already two weeks old. At our check up this week Zaylee weighed in at 8.06 lbs and very good health. She continues to practice lifting her head to strengthen her neck muscles and has also been sleeping longer at night.

Zaylee at 10 days

Wow it's hard to believe she is already 10 days old. We've been blessed with a healthy baby and have enjoyed every moment of her life. Zaylee had a checkup last Thursday and is starting to gain back some of her delivery weight. We will visit with her pediatrician this week to for another standard check. She has been a great baby, hardly cries, eating well, and starting to lift her head and roll a little on her own. She isn't quite on our schedule yet and prefers to be up at night and sleep all day. I've been recovering well and Justin and my Mom have been very supportive.

She's Gonna Blow!

We are checked into the hospital and Ang and Zaylee are both being monitored. She's been given her Cervidil and an IV, and signed all the consent forms. I'm in the hospital room with her and I'm going to try to get some rest. She is scheduled to induce at 6 AM. Should be a big day!

37 Weeks

It's hard to believe I only have two more weeks to go. I haven't noticed my belly getting much bigger but Justin says it is the biggest he's seen so far. Sleeping for an entire night is a thing of the past. I get up several times, some to use the restroom and the others to roll over onto my other side because my hands/arms are numb.

During my weekly checkup I was informed that I need to switch from my once a day Lovenox shots to twice day Heparin shots in order to increase my chances of getting an epidural during labor/delivery. I will be starting my new shots early next week and I'm happy I only need to do them until the baby is born, then back to the Lovenox for 6 weeks. I am also dilated to 1.5 cm - only 8.5 to go. :)

I'm getting quite excited for Zaylie to be in my arms looking up at me. We have a baby pool going around at work and everyone is guessing I'll be early, we'll see.

Surprise Baby Shower

What a surprise! I was not expecting a baby shower during the Lindsey Christmas but Justin's sister Brandi hosted one for me. We played the "Figure out what is in the diaper" game. Thanks to Brandi for getting a white cake with white frosting. Thanks Christy, Jacquie, and Brandi for the gifts, I'm sure Zaylie will enjoy them.

Less than a month to go

I'm in the final month of pregnancy with little Zaylie Liora. She's been kicking much harder the last two weeks (God bless her!) and when she rolls over my entire belly moves with her. I haven't been getting much rest at night due the frequent restroom breaks, which I hear is preparing me for what is to come with the feedings. :-) My hands have been swelling more which has been causing quite a bit of discomfort, especially when holding something for a while. It's hard to get comfortable at night with this big belly and when I do, it's only until I get up to use the restroom, and the cycle continues.

I will be finishing up the hospital bag packing tomorrow and Justin has installed the car seat in my truck. I would say we're practically ready for her to come any day. I've been "nesting" in her room, going through all the clothing we've received and ensuring it's all washed and ready. I finished setting up her crib today, putting on the mattress pad, bumper and purple sheet. My mom recently ordered us the swing I had on my registry so we'll get that put together soon.

I'm still administering a daily shot in my belly for my blood condition, and my twice-a-week NSTs and weekly doctor appointments are going well, although I'm ready for them to be over with. Last week was the first week in a while that I actually had NO weight gain. Justin and I will have our last baby prep class this week where we'll learn about breathing and pushing. Last week we learned about medical intervention (inducing, cesarean and epidurals) and it was quite informative.

8 Month Checkup

I had my 8 month sonogram today and everything is looking great. She is now weighing in at 4lb 4 oz, which is quite the growth spurt from 4 weeks ago when she was 2.5 lbs.

The doctor checked her umbilical cord, heart, stomach, and thigh bones. She wasn't moving much but that resulted in hardly any pictures because she had her back towards the camera. I suppose she was camera shy today. Her foot was nestled up in my ribs again, above her head, where she likes to keep it.

Overall we are doing well. My nightly shots aren't getting easier as I've had to move towards my sides instead of the middle of my belly cause it's too big. She has got the hiccups several times which is a neat feeling. The non-stress tests that I'm doing twice a week are getting easier. I've discovered if I eat something and drink a protein shake before the test then she'll sit still for the monitors. Justin and I have signed up for a 4 week "Baby Prep" class that starts next month as well as a tour of the hospital where I plan to deliver.

7 Months Along

I had my monthly checkup today and everything is looking good. She is 2lbs 8oz and about 16" long. Here are a couple sonogram scans from Thursday. In the top one she is looking at the camera with the heel of her foot by her face. In the bottom one she turned away to keep playing with her toes.

In two weeks I start doing NSTs (Non-Stress Tests) twice a week until my due date. I will also start seeing my Dr twice a month for 6 weeks, then weekly until my due date, so needless to say I'm going to be busy.

Alaska Baby Shower

Last weekend was my Alaska Baby shower. Several of my high school classmates and family attended. I'd like to thank Heidi Cox for organizing the event and Rebecca Kensinger for hosting it at her house. I'd also like to give Amanda Larby a special thank you for coming back after the party with a huge pile of 0-3 month clothes that were new/hardly worn! Talk about scoring big. My luggage was PACKED on the way back.

Thanks to everyone that attended. It was great seeing everyone again, and of course thanks for your kind words and generosity.

This is all from Amanda!

Painted Baby Room

I surprised Ang by painting the baby room and assembling a crib. She had hinted the colors she would like, so I went to Lowes and picked a couple out. Before presenting the room to her, I wrapped up Kyla in a blanket and laid her in the crib as she fake-cried. Ang laughed and seemed very happy.

Baby update: She is kicking more these days and you can see her limbs press against Ang's belly. She weighs 1 Ibs 10 oz and is 13 inches long. It looks like she's going to have my big toe. Ang is no longer on pelvic rest! She is still taking a daily shot for her blood condition and considered high risk. Her doctor says everything else looks really good.

23 Weeks

I've been feeling a lot of movement lately. It really makes the pregnancy more fun and even more realistic. I'm not sure what I've been eating but she must like it. :) Heidi and Rebecca have organized a baby shower for me in Alaska in 10 days and I'm very excited to see my friends and family.

It's Gonna Be a Girl

Well I might as well start min-van shopping. Today the doctor told us Angie is carrying a healthy girl. She weighs about 12 oz and is about 7 inches long. Angie is 20 weeks pregnant. I was crossing my fingers for a baby boy, so that means we will likely try again.

Ang is 17 Weeks Along

Hello family and friends,

In case you haven't heard, Angela is currently 17 weeks pregnant! This is great news, since she's had a few miscarriages and never made it past 11 weeks. She's considered "High Risk" and this time her doctor has been running additional blood work tests and sonograms.

Just last week, her doctor delivered the difficult news that Angela has a homozygous MTHFR mutation which causes blood clotting. This condition could threaten both the baby's and Angie's life if proper treatment isn't followed. She is now taking a daily shot of a Lovenox enoxaparin sodium injection and will have to continue medication 45 days after delivery.

Please pray for her as this is a discomfort, inconvenience, and she just doesn't like needles. But still, we are fortunate to have discovered the issue as it is likely related to the previous loss and it's good to know there is a resolution.
All else is well with her pregnancy and she has gained 6 Ibs. We will be finding out the sex in the next month or so.

Sorry to say...

Well, I'm sorry to report that Ang lost the baby. We knew she was at high risk going into this and I should have been more reserved before announcing the news at only ten weeks. I just wanted to share the news when seeing my family over Easter weekend and we were starting to really get excited. Sorry to get everyone's hopes up. I've learned a lot myself in this ordeal. Ang was in an immense amount of pain yesterday, but she is much better today. I'm doing good. We both took the day off of work to rest up after a long night. Thanks to all of you that have reached out to us and for your prayers. We will try again in about three months. We have not lost hope. :-(
