Helm Family Reunion

We attended the Helm family reunion in Denver this past weekend. It was great to see everyone again. I think it had been several years since we had a reunion. We sat around and talked, played some games, did some shopping and ate lots of yummy food.

Bean Bag Ride

We went to parents night at Vacation Bible School where Kyla performed four songs and revealed the crafts she completed. We also participated in an Overland Park "hay ride"....instead of a tractor they used a truck...instead of hay they used bean bags...and instead of a country drive we just circled the parking lot. I rode in the back of the truck as Kyla rode in the trailor, and one of the little local girls actually said "I hope I don't get any ticks". LOL

Tim Woodward Funeral

Angela, Uncle Steve, Aunt Pammy, Grandma Gloria

We buried a portion of my dad's ashes at a quaint cemetery near my Great Aunt Margaret's farm in North Dakota. My dad spent most of his summers growing up on this farm helping milk the cows and bail hay.

Lightning Strike!

Lightning and strong winds struck our home earlier this week causing around $20k in damage. The bolt struck Zaylee's roof and came within one foot of Zaylee's head as she slept in her crib. We lost several electronics do to a surge in the phone, cable and electric lines. It's been no fun without phone/cable/internet/AC but we are so happy the house didn't burn down and we are all ok. Home repairs begin next week. I just restored my web server and home network today, so sorry for the delay. Kyla has been a little shook up since the mega boom, so you might want to remember her in your prayers.

Bad Poison

I went on a poison annihilation hunt on our property this weekend and successfully slaughtered multiple vines and shrubs of poison ivy, oak and sumac. Some of the vines were very mature and had taken over the trees as you can see.
