2005 Chevy Equinox
Music: Breaking Benjamin
Mood: Broke
I celebrated my eight-year wedding anniversary a couple weeks ago. I gave M a card before I set off to work that told her how much I loved her and on the last page I pasted a pic of a Chevy Equinox and stuck a little note under it that said "Go Get It! Seriously!" Well, she took me serious all right, and about 11 hours later that same day it was sitting in my garage.
M has been drooling over this small SUV since 2002. She had a brochure on it way before any of the local dealers had one and she's been doing tons of internet research on it, plus writing the Chevrolet corporate office just for little details. We finally saw it at the car shows this Spring in KC and Denver. We bought it over the internet and when we went in to pick it up, she clearly knew more about it than the sales manager reviewing it with us.
Sure it's a nice new monthly payment for us, but I'm really glad we got it. It was time to retire the 1986 Bronco that recently didn't pass state inspection because it needs some muffler/emmisions fixes. Man, I'm going to miss my loud crappy Bronco, and I'm sure my neighbors will miss seeing it in the driveway :-) After driving the Equinox a few times now, I'm really starting to like it. The biggest thing I appreciate is how much safer it is for my daughter K. Oh did I mention M just happened to pick the best model you can get with every option available including XM radio, OnStar, heated electronic seats, 6 disk changer, leather, etc. So far, my only complaint is it doesn't have any "Oh Shit!" handles.
