Zaylee Likes to Look Outside

We have been practicing with Zaylee and her standing. She have very strong legs and is so proud of herself when she's standing. My brother walked at 7 months, I'm not sure we're ready if Zaylee starts that early.

Zaylee Visits Lexi

On Monday Zaylee and I went over to my old college roommate Brandi's house to visit. Lexi is nine months old now and has four teeth. She's doing the army crawl around the house and loved to take the toys away from Zaylee while they played together.

San Fran

Well I'm back in San Francisco for some training with my work. The weather has been wonderful and sunny with a cool breeze. This is such a nice city and I so enjoy visiting. I love the culture here. Last night I took a walk by all the popular piers. And today I'm having lunch outside at Embarcadero center near this fountain structure with a couple hundred others. The food smells excellent from sushi bars to pizza parlors to authentic Mexican cuisine. I wish I could pig out, but I've been on a juice diet lately ever since I had all four wisdom teeth pulled last week.

Debt Free!

Well not totally debt free, but I can finally say the college loan I started 11 years ago has finally been paid in full. Whew, what a relief!

Talon Will Be Missed

My black lab Talon has passed away at age 13. I remember the day I picked him out. He was the smallest, most terrified puppy from the litter of eight and was too cute hiding in the corner with his back to the world. He was an amazing dog. He lived with my parents when I moved away for college but always remembered me when I would visit. He would greet me with a wagging tail and smile, yes he would smile and show his teeth. He loved to fetch, balance food on his nose and catch it, sit pretty, and ride the 4-wheeler. He is and always will be loved and missed dearly.

Marcie Update

Marcie has been doing good. She and her boyfriend Danny are enjoying this summer. They've been to several country concerts together including a festival with Kenny Chesney in Nashville. Danny seems to put a lot of hours in with Cintas and he recently sold his house in Montgomery City. Angela and I meet up with them from time to time and visit or eat together.

Dad/Uncle Update

My dad is hanging in there. He had one day where his blood pressure went over 200 and they changed his blood pressure medication. He is getting a second opinion on his diagnosis in Anchorage on Aug 7-8. They will perform a biopsy on his pancreas via an endoscope. His weight is still low but staying stable at 138.

My Uncle Johnny, who just had surgery to remove several tumors from his bladder and urinary track at the end of June, was in the emergency room over last weekend. He was suffering from extreme pain and a high fever due to an infection from his surgery. He's back home now resting and trying to gain some weight because he's down to 115 lbs. His next appointment is at the end of August at the Cancer Clinic in Springfield MO to determine the next steps for his recovery.

Standing Already?

Zaylee turned six months old last Friday, can you believe it? Time has flown by so quickly. Zaylee can easily sit on her own now and has even started standing with our help. We better get this house baby-proofed soon cause she'll be walking before we know it.

Lindsey Reunion 2008

Sixteen of us enjoyed another family reunion together. This year's event was in Springfield/Branson and hosted by my parents. We ate hearty, played games, swam and did a lot of visiting. It was good to see everyone again and I look forward to the next reunion tentatively set for Illinois in Summer 09.

They Got Us Again

I'm wondering if this is going to be an annual event. Last year around the same time in July our mailbox was blown up. This year they took a bat to our tin one and it appears it took two swings before they knocked it off the post. The mail inside was still intact. We are going to have to get creative for our next one.

Heidi and Brenna stopped by my parent's house to visit me and Zaylee yesterday. Brenna is growing up so quickly and Heidi is looking lovely in her eighth month of pregnancy. Hayden Eugene Cox is due on Sept 17 and Heidi is anxiously awaiting her son's birth. Brenna is pretty excited to be a big sissy as well.

Home Made Pizza

I've been making my own pizzas lately. I like this better because I prepare most of the ingredients fresh, and make it just how I want to. Kyla helped me with this one. We put all kinds of stuff on it, including tomatoes from my garden. It's fun too!

Internet Problems

Sorry about my site being up and down lately. I host my site on my own server at home and I've been having some Internet service issues. My Internet carrier has had to replace the same network equipment in a switchbox down the road multiple times. I would expect it to go down again. I've also had some phone problems in case you have tried to call...

Visiting My Dad

I arrived in Soldotna AK on Saturday afternoon to spend the week with my Dad. He was patiently waiting for me at his house and gave me a giant hug when I came up the stairs. He is in great spirits, but even with medicine, he's still in a lot of pain. The most recent blood tests did not detect cancer, however his doctor says that doesn't always mean there isn't any. Clearly something is wrong with his health and he has lost alot of weight. The plan now is to get a second opinion asap and his next MRI is scheduled for the end of July.

Already Zaylee has warmed up to her grandpa and volunteered lots of smiles to him. I see the joy in his eyes when Zaylee coo's at him. I'm very glad her and I came to visit. The rest of the family up here loves Zaylee too and has enjoyed holding her and pinching her chubby cheeks.

Independance Weekend

This weekend's quote is from Kyla as we laid on our backs together watching the fireworks display.
"Daddy I Love You. You're the best dad ever. No seriously, I really think you are the best Dad out there"
That totally made my weekend. She is such a sweetheart.
We watched a fireworks display at Harrisonville, and one at Stockton Lake. We also went to the beach at the lake and camped too. Plus we enjoyed shooting some fireworks off at home. This was a memorable weekend.

Warped 08

Ang and I skipped the Cornerstone Festival in Illinois this year and went to the Vans Warped Tour in Kansas City instead. This was primarily due to having baby Zaylee this year, plus Ang will be traveling to Alaska soon and we didn't want to wear out with the whole four day festival thing. At VANs we saw several bands like A Day to Remember, Alesana, As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red, The Devil Wears Prada, Norma Jean, Paramore, Reel Big Fish, and Relient K. It was fun.
