Some Marcie News

Marcie's Address has changed to:
Marcie Lindsey & Danny Brandenburg
14921 Riggs
Overland Park, KS 66223

---
I'm sorry to say, Marcie's Grandpa Sachs passed away Friday at the age of 81. His health really went downhill last year with clogged arteries and diabetes. Kyla attended her first funeral yesterday and had a lot of questions. Marcie says her family is doing good and they were for the most part prepared for this.

Zaylee at 10 days

Wow it's hard to believe she is already 10 days old. We've been blessed with a healthy baby and have enjoyed every moment of her life. Zaylee had a checkup last Thursday and is starting to gain back some of her delivery weight. We will visit with her pediatrician this week to for another standard check. She has been a great baby, hardly cries, eating well, and starting to lift her head and roll a little on her own. She isn't quite on our schedule yet and prefers to be up at night and sleep all day. I've been recovering well and Justin and my Mom have been very supportive.

Grandma T Visiting

We've been enjoying some yummy cooking and generous help from Grandma T. She's been staying with us for a couple weeks now and lending an extra hand as we take on the new duties of raising a baby. Its been great visiting with her and hanging out. We've been playing cards, taking walks, watching movies, and passing Zaylee back and forth. There's a difference when someone stops by for a visit, and when someone settles in with you for a week or so. You get to know them at a different level and bond with them more personally. I've enjoyed her visit very much, and I know her and Angie are getting some needed quality time together. In addition, Kyla has been entertaining Grandma T with lots of questions and playtime.

She's Gonna Blow!

We are checked into the hospital and Ang and Zaylee are both being monitored. She's been given her Cervidil and an IV, and signed all the consent forms. I'm in the hospital room with her and I'm going to try to get some rest. She is scheduled to induce at 6 AM. Should be a big day!

Farewell Jetta Turbo, Hello Mazda Economy

After driving the Jetta for eight years and 199,000 miles, I decided to get a new Mazda 5. The Mazda is more roomy and seats six passengers. It gets up to 28 MPG, and that should make my 44 mile commute much better. I chose the Golden Sand Metallic color because it was the closest to the "dirt road" color I could select. In this picture it is actually really muddy. Kyla really likes it, and Im sure Angie will appreciate the better accessibility for the baby.

37 Weeks

It's hard to believe I only have two more weeks to go. I haven't noticed my belly getting much bigger but Justin says it is the biggest he's seen so far. Sleeping for an entire night is a thing of the past. I get up several times, some to use the restroom and the others to roll over onto my other side because my hands/arms are numb.

During my weekly checkup I was informed that I need to switch from my once a day Lovenox shots to twice day Heparin shots in order to increase my chances of getting an epidural during labor/delivery. I will be starting my new shots early next week and I'm happy I only need to do them until the baby is born, then back to the Lovenox for 6 weeks. I am also dilated to 1.5 cm - only 8.5 to go. :)

I'm getting quite excited for Zaylie to be in my arms looking up at me. We have a baby pool going around at work and everyone is guessing I'll be early, we'll see.
