Squirrels Galore

My pond seems to be the popular watering hole for a whole family generation of squirrels out at my place. It is enjoyable to watch them run, play, and hunt for food.

Frogs

Music: My Yahoo LAUNCHcast Station
Mood: Loving my home

We have an abundance of tree frogs that are singing melodies at night. A couple of them have decided to use our covered porch as a homestead. It is easy pickin’ for these guys here, because we work together as a team. The frogs position themselves on the window and wait for me to turn a couple lights on in the house. The bugs are attracted to the light and fly right into the frog’s belly. Then during daylight I notice the frogs will take cover in a shady spot till dusk.

Purchased Ski Boat

I purchased my Uncle Ken's ski boat. That should make a fun summer. It has a 350 HP motor.

New Home

I grew up in the country on a small farm backed up beside a national forest. Ponds, trees, 4-wheelers, gardening, hunting, low crime, quiet nature and clean air. For several months now, I've been searching for a house that will get me out of the city and back to my roots, and I think I've finally found something really close. Angela and I have decided on a four-year old home out in Garden City MO. It's on seven acres with several trees and some pasture. The backyard is what sold it for me. We have to drive a couple miles of gravel to get there, but if you ask me, even better. The less traffic and noise, the better. This is exciting.

I've been cooped up in an apartment complex right snug beside a major interstate in Kansas City for over a year and a half. Before that, I was in a house in a tight neighborhood with one 15' tree. That kind of living is just not me.

Here are some pics of our last walk-through.
