LHS 15 Year Reunion Announced

My Licking High School 15 year reunion will be on May 10th (7 PM) at the Fox Fire Station in Licking MO. Let me know if you have questions and I can put you in touch with Haley.

Emily's Birthday

Kyla attended a birthday party for her classmate Emily at a gymnastics center. It was tons of fun and a great opportunity for her. She balanced on the beams, jumped on the trampolines, swung on the rope and especially enjoyed riding the zip-cord. She was happy to receive chocolate cup-cake at the end of all the exercise. On the way home Kyla expressed a lot of interest in gymnastics.

Sitting up

Zaylee loves to sit up. She just stares at the lights or television, whatever catches her attention. She's been growling and gurgling more. Recently she discovered her fist and just watched it for a while. Then she decided to put her fingers in her mouth and naw on them. We started teaching her basic sign language this week (eat, more, milk, mother, father, yes, no).

Granny & Grandpa Visit

My Mom and Dad visited us this weekend. We spent some time on the back porch visiting and watching the birds. My mom and I went mushroom hunting, but didn't find any. Later on we watched the movie Juno, which was pretty cute.

Kyla Fell Today

Kyla fell on some steps at her school playground today. She was pretty upset when I arrived. I decided to take the rest of the day off work and cheered her up.

Two New Babies

My mom reported some Helm family news today.

Erich and Kelli have a new granddaughter born to Jessica on 4-21. Emily Madison weighed 6lb 11oz and is 20" long.

Keith and Yvonne became grandparents 4-23 when Carmen delivered an 8lb 5oz boy named Jackson Keith. He is 19 3/4" long.

Both mom's and babies are doing well.

Zaylee is 3 Months Old

Time has sure flown by. It's hard to believe Zaylee is already three months old. She has been kicking her legs and swinging her arms at stuff in front of her. In the last few days she has discovered her fist and I find her staring at it. She also likes to suck on her hand, which I'm trying to discourage and replace with the pacifier. It should be any time now that we hear her first giggle.

4-wheeln'

Kyla had been running several laps on her new 4-wheeler. She doesn't seem to mind the extra speed and I've had to tune it down so she doesn't get to crazy. She's also been helping me haul branches around by sticking them on her 4-wheeler rack and driving them to the pile. Notice her 4-wheeler is camo, but her helmet knee/elbow guards are pink. I'd say that is a good description of Kyla. A little bit of country girl, a little bit of princess.

Grandpa Helm Visit

We enjoyed Grandpa's visit for three nights. It was nice to catch up with him and hear his stories. We took it easy and hung out on our property taking nature walks. He spotted a bobcat, fox, snake, shrew, several squirrels and of course the birds. We also enjoyed a gooseberry pie in his honor.

Happy Girl

Zaylee has started going to daycare. Her caretakers say she does very well and is one of the best babies in the room. She's been taking the bottle as well, sleeping, playing, being a sweetie.

Amy Welch/Cook Update

I called Amy Welch/Cook last night. She was my highschool girlfriend for four years. She seemed to be doing ok and living in Salem MO. She has three kids. I was sorry to hear that her father Jim Welch passed away recently due to cancer. She still seemed sad about that. Her mom Judy is living in Salem as well.
